Qualifications:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Practical Nursing, or appropriate state board where services will be provided, as a practical nurse OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).2Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.CORE DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this positionThey are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and dutiesOther duties may be assigned.1Provides direct nursing care to patients in an outpatient medical office setting.2Uses standards of care and standards of practice to guide care delivery.3Accurately and safely administers intramuscular, subcutaneous, and oral medications as ordered.4Consults with the Provider or Registered Nurse to seek guidance in delivery of nursing care, as necessary.5Obtains instruction and supervision as necessary from the Provider or Registered Nurse when implementing nursing technique or practices.6Performs designated therapeutic procedures to patients as needed.7Accurately observes, records and reports to the Provider, all patient concerns, symptoms, reactions and progress in a timely manner.8Assists Providers and the Registered Nurse with examinations and procedures, as assigned.9Utilizes available supplies in a cost-effective manner to help contain patient costs.10Provide emotional support to patients and/or families.11Participate in problem solving and decision making in the outpatient unitAct to ensure staffing and patient needs are met.12Obtain medical information from patientsTake height, weight, blood pressure, and vital signs of the patientScreen patient for chief complaint and pertinent health dataRecord data gathered in patient's medical record and communicate data gathered to physician.13Works closely with office assistant and physician to facilitate patient's clinic visitEnsure patient's chart is availableEscort patients to and from exam roomAssist with scheduling when necessary.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
