Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer

Our client owns and operates a state-of-the-art coal-fired power plant and has a newly created opening for a Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer.
JOB SUMMARY The Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for managing all the rotating equipment at Longview.
This position will work closely with the Maintenance Planning, Operations, and station management in monitoring equipment condition, planning and executing projects that improve the condition and reliability of the facility.
The primary function of the rotating equipment mechanical Engineer will be involved in but not limited to System and Plant performance, Mechanical Devices, Components, Steam Turbines, Pumps, Valves, Piping, Supports, Material Handling Equipment, and all Plant Auxiliaries.
This person will use engineering principals to provide technical support for the Client'sSupercritical Coal Fired Generating Station.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Read and interpret Blueprints, Technical drawings, Schematics, and Computer generated reports.
Confers with other Engineers and Personnel to develop, revise, and implement operating, maintenance, and other procedures.
Confers with other Engineers and Personnel to resolve malfunctions, implement repairs, and review operating characteristics in the plant.
Comply with the obligations of all permits including Federal, State, and Local regulations.
Review and Specify Systems, Components, Modifications, and Performance of each.
Apply Engineering principals to ensure all processes meet design requirements.
Provide assistance, technical information, and direction to Longview's personnel.
Provide feedback to other personnel regarding failures, problem resolution, and lessons learned.
Diagnose faulty operations, maintenance, and process procedures and implement corrections.
Conduct tests that analyze Design, Feasibility, Operation, and Performance of systems, components, and equipment.
Coordinate regular periodic plant audits and inspections to ensure that proper regulatory plans are in place, tracked, reported and updated as needed.
Familiar with applicable engineering standards and stay abreast of changes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE.
SKILLS) A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Process engineering is required.
A minimum of 10 years experience in steam and electric power plant operations.
Extensive experience in the use of personal computers and numerous software applications such as Excel, Word, MS Outlook, Powerpoint, Access, etc.
Ability to productively work independently and as an overall integral team member.
Must have strong communication both written and verbal skills and the ability to effectively organize and facilitate process teams to implement facility improvements.
Ability to handle quick changing situations under stress and to work extended hours on short notice if and when required.
Through knowledge of rigging and hoisting procedures.
